SEC to close for National Day of Mourning

In honor of President George H.W. Bush, the federal government will close for a National Day of Mourning. As such, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and its EDGAR filing system are closed Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Therefore, no SEC filings can be received tomorrow.

Files submitted after 5:30 pm EST, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 will receive a filing date of Thursday, December 6, 2018 and will be posted to the public on December 6, 2018.

As with other holiday closings, the following file types will receive a Tuesday, December 4, 2018 filing date if filed by 10 p.m. EST today:

  • Section 16 filings (3, 3/A, 4, 4/A, 5, 5/A)
  • Filings pursuant to Rule 462(b) - "MEF" filings

For any filing with a due date of Wednesday, December 5, 2018, the SEC will move the due date to Thursday, December 6, 2018.
