Nasdaq proposes changes to initial listing requirements10.09.18
Nasdaq is currently seeking public comment on its initial listing criteria relating to the liquidity of equity securities.
The comment solicitation identifies four areas of interest relating to the liquidity of listed securities in the context of initial listings:
1. Exclusion of restricted stockholders from the calculation of round lot holders.
2. Creating of a minimum investment amount (such as $2,500) outside of Nasaq’s pre-existing round lot requirements.
3. Imposing a minimum trading volume for uplisting OTC companies.
4. General inquiries as to whether SPACs and Reg A+ IPOs should have different standards imposed, as compared to other IPOs.
Comments are due on Nasdaq’s proposal by November 16, 2018.
